Welcome to Taekwon-do-Wales, one of the largest Taekwon-do schools in the UK teaching the fastest growing Martial Art in history! We offer Taekwon-Do classes in Aberbargoed & Bargoed, Oakdale, Hengoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly & Mountain Ash

Taekwon-do-Wales helps students develop confidence and fitness, all whilst honing self-defence abilities. Don't forget- there is also the thrill of competition for those who fancy taking their training further!

If you are thinking of taking up Taekwon-do, then this is the place to be! First two lessons will be free of charge, and a discounted payment plan is available for families, so you have nothing to lose. We also offer specific classes, for ages 4 to 6, 7 to 12, Teens Adults, Ladies only class - please see our 'School Information' section for more details. QUALIFIED TAEKWON-DO INSTRUCTION 

Our Taekwon-do clubs are run by fully qualified and registered Taekwon-do instructors. We have 6 DBS registered instructors and 3 DBS assistant instructors, affiliated with the International Taekwon-Do Federation HQ Korea, and our association is ITF HQ Wales. Our instructors are listed below:

TAEKWON-DO WALES COMPETITION SUCCESS 

We have had great success as a Taekwon-do school in competitions. We have Taekwon-do Wales students in the National Welsh Squad that compete at international competition level throughout Europe. We have obtained first place status In ITF League tables in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, and second place for 2015 missing out by only a few points. We have won Gold in the World Championships 2017. We were also able to win many medals at tournaments at National and International's in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022 &2023

TAEKWON-DO WALES PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS SERVICE 

Our clubs are involved with local schools offering demonstrations and after school classes. If you are a headteacher or sports coach for a school, please contact us to see how we can get involved to offer this service to your school. Our clubs are very popular with the school children and their parents, particularly with those parents working late. If you are interested, please contact us for advice. 

TAEKWON-DO WALES COMMUNITY DISPLAYS IN SOUTH WALES 

We offer displays at local school fetes and fairs, free of charge. Displays are always varied, showing the traditional side of Taekwon-do with practices that are centuries old. Our demonstrations include weapons, self-defence skills and sparring, often accompanied by music. Not to mention the art of wood breaking, and the occasional brick or tile! We also strive to include every student who wants to participate, regardless of age or belt status. 

ESTABLISHED 

Taekwon-do Wales was established by Master Peter Kent-Marrast VII degree black belt. The club first opened doors in the Blackwood area in 2001, by Peter and his wife Master Patricia Kent-Marrast VII degree. Over the years it has expanded rapidly, now the club teaches Taekwon-do to over 300 students in South Wales. All clubs are located in the South Wales valleys.

I, Master Peter Kent-Marrast VII degree am an International Instructor, International Umpire, Chief Instructor, Grading Examiner and Welsh Representative and Ambassador for ITF HQ Korea. I have been teaching Taekwon-do for over 23 years and started training in the mid 1970s. Taekwon-do is my life, what makes me happy is watching the students within my schools develop into good people. I believe Taekwon-do is the perfect tool for bringing out the best in people.
